Finished reading: White Poverty by William J. Barber II 📚this books speaks to this moment with clarity and power clearly articulating how the powerful divide the poor against each other. Essential read.
At the end of most news casts we hear how much the Dow Jones Industrial Average has climbed or declined. It would be powerful if in the same segment, a poverty index was read citing the number of Americans living in poverty had increased or decreased from the previous day.
In tearing down the East Wing, Trump asserts he’s outside of history; greater than it. The White House can’t contain him. And he will mold the White House and history to his own liking.
But we must make sure he is within history, that he is a president… one of many… this is why we protest.
